So, What Is Pitch Pearls?

You love women’s football? Of course you do; that’s why you’re here. Or maybe you play it. Maybe you referee it. Maybe you spend your weekends watching matches and arguing about who should have started. Or perhaps you’re the famale coach behind the female player’s success.

That is where Pitch Pearls comes in.

Pitch Pearls is a worldwide platform about women’s football, sports, and everything that happens around women’s soccer sport.

Because let’s be honest, sport does not begin when the referee blows the whistle.

There is everything that comes before it.

  • What are you eating?
  • How are you training?
  • How do you recover?
  • How can you improve that skill you’ve been struggling with?
  • What music gets you through a tough training session?
  • What happens when you’re a girl trying to find your place in a sport where staying in the game is not always easy?

These are the things we want to talk about.

So yes, you’ll find women’s football here. Players, clubs, competitions, stories, and the people making the game what it is.

But you will also find the things that help you live around sport, enjoy it and survive it.

Why Pitch Pearls?

Maybe you’ve noticed that a lot of women’s sports websites give you the score and move on.

Fair enough. Sometimes you just want to know who won.

But what if you want more?

What if you want to know how a player got there? What she eats. How she trains. What keeps her going. What a young girl needs to stay in football. Or even what song belongs on your training playlist.

That’s the kind of conversation we want to have here.

Pitch Pearls is for the player looking for a new football trick to practise.

  • The fan discovering women’s football.
  • The girl wondering whether she really belongs in sport.
  • The coach searching for a fresh idea.
  • The person trying to figure out nutrition and fitness.
  • And yes, even the person who simply wants to discover good music connected to the sporting world.

You don’t have to be a professional athlete to have a sporting life.

How Did Pitch Pearls Start?

Now for the person behind all this.

I love football.

I could not become a professional footballer, but I wasn’t ready to let football become something I only watched from a distance. Writing gave me another way to stay close to the game.

So I started Pitch Pearls.

What began with a love for football grew into something bigger. I wanted to tell women’s football stories, but I also kept noticing how much exists around the game that people need and want to talk about.

My own experiences around football have helped shape that too. I have spent years around the sport, including working as a football referee, and being on the other side of the touchline has given me plenty to see, question, and write about.

Pitch Pearls is where all those interests meet.

And Where Are We Going?

Honestly, we’re just getting started.

I want Pitch Pearls to become a place where you can come looking for one thing and leave having discovered three more.

  • A player story.
  • A training tip.
  • A nutrition idea.
  • A football conversation you had never thought about.
  • A song for your next session.
  • Or perhaps the story of a girl who reminds you why you fell in love with sport in the first place.
  • Most importantly, I want girls and women to see themselves here.

You don’t have to be the next big female football star. You don’t even have to know yet where sport will take you.

  • Maybe you’ll play.
  • Maybe you’ll coach.
  • Maybe you’ll referee.
  • Maybe you’ll write about it.
  • Maybe you’ll create around it.
  • Maybe you’ll simply be the person in the stands cheering the loudest.

There is room for you.
