Soccer power couple Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger are kicking off new chapters after announcing their divorce last fall. Krashlyn as fans liked to call them, are among the famous gay female footballers in the world.

This is definitely one of the many celebrity splits that will surprise fans who have watched the two USWNT legends build an incredible love story over the past decade.

Ash and Ali first met in 2010 playing together on the national team. They just clicked right away and became super close friends. As the years went on, their friendship blossomed into something more.

They were so in sync on the field with both Orlando Pride and Gotham FC. Off the field, their romantic connection grew stronger too.

After winning the World Cup together in 2015 and 2019, Ashlyn and Ali tied the knot in December 2019. It felt like a fairy tale come true!

On their one-year anniversary in 2020, Ali shared how they had faced ups and downs like any couple. But their love only grew deeper as they tackled life side by side.

Over the next few years, Ash and Ali expanded their family. Daughter Sloane was adopted in 2021, then son Ocean arrived in 2022. Becoming moms added a whole new layer of joy and responsibility. It was beautiful seeing them raise this adorable family together.

But on September 11, 2023, Ashlyn filed for divorce seemingly out of the blue. After so many years together, it’s coming as a total shock to their fans.

At 37, goalkeeper Ashlyn had recently retired after a legendary career. She was a backup on the USWNT 2015 and 2019 World Cup championship teams. Ash also made history as the first NWSL keeper with 500 career saves – that’s how good she was! After retiring last year, she took on a new role as an advisor for Gotham FC.

Defender Ali, now 39, will be retiring from soccer but not before finishing up her final season with Gotham in the NWSL. She represented the USWNT for over a decade, racking up 108 appearances. Her amazing skills inspired countless young players.

While it’s sad to see Ash and Ali split, we’re grateful for the memories. These two gave their all through iconic World Cup runs and raising a family together. Even on new journeys, Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger will always remind us of soccer greatness, true love, and overcoming life’s toughest challenges.

Legends forever!
