Women’s football has some of the most open love stories in all of sports, and the English club Chelsea has plenty of them. Some players have shared their relationships with the world. Others have kept their private lives to themselves, even when people online guess and gossip about who they might be dating. Well, that is their right, and nobody owes the public an answer.

So, in this list of Chelsea gay female footballers, we only share what each player has said or shown herself. Where fans only gossip, we call it a rumor. A rumor is just a story people pass around without proof, so please treat those parts as talk and nothing more.

Ready to meet the Chelsea lesbian footballers behind the headlines? Scroll down and have a read.

1) Ellie Carpenter

Ellie Carpenter joined Chelsea in 2025 and still plays for the club today. Before that, she played for Western Sydney Wanderers from 2015 to 2017, Canberra United from 2017 to 2019, Portland Thorns from 2018 to 2020, and Lyon from 2020 to 2025. She also spent a short time on loan at Melbourne City in 2019 and 2020.

Carpenter’s wife is Dutch midfielder Daniëlle van de Donk. The two met at Lyon in 2021, went public in 2023, and got engaged on New Year’s Day 2024.

Then, in June 2025, they got married at a chateau, which is a fancy castle-style house, in the south of France.

Soon after, Ellie moved to Chelsea on a four-year deal, while Daniëlle signed with London City Lionesses. So now they face each other as rivals in the Women’s Super League, the top women’s league in England.

2) Melvine Malard

Melvine Malard is the newest name on this Chelsea gay female footballers list. She joined Chelsea on July 20, 2026. The French forward grew up on La Réunion, a small island near Madagascar, and came through at Lyon, where she signed her first professional contract in 2017 and stayed until 2023.

After that, she spent three years at Manchester United, from 2023 to 2026.

Malard’s partner is Justine. Early in 2026, Melvine shared a sweet Instagram video of herself proposing on a beach at sunset. They later held their wedding on June 23, 2026.

3) Katie McCabe

Katie McCabe is an Irish left back who captains the Republic of Ireland team. She started at Shelbourne in Dublin and moved to Arsenal in December 2015. She stayed for 11 years, played 305 games, and helped Arsenal win the Champions League in 2025.

Then her Arsenal contract ended, and on July 1, 2026, Katie joined Chelsea on a free transfer. She signed a three-year deal, and now she is among the Chelsea gay female footballers on this list.

McCabe was with fellow Irish footballer Ruesha Littlejohn for about seven years, until early 2023. Soon after, rumors began that she was dating her Arsenal teammate, Australian forward Caitlin Foord.

For about a year, fans guessed and gossiped while the two stayed quiet. Then, in May 2024, Caitlin confirmed they were together. After Arsenal beat Barcelona in the 2025 Champions League final in Lisbon, Katie put her arm around Caitlin in front of the fans.

Here is the twist, though. Caitlin signed a new two-year deal and stayed at Arsenal, so now the couple plays for two rival clubs in London.

4) Nathalie Björn

Nathalie Björn has played for Chelsea since January 2024, and she is one of the team’s vice-captains. She started out at Vaksala SK and Eskilstuna United in Sweden, then moved to Everton in 2021 and stayed there until her Chelsea move.

It was at Everton that Björn met Aurora Galli, an Italian midfielder, and she told a Swedish magazine it felt like love at first sight. She also said she had only dated boys before, but she has always been drawn to people for who they are, whether boys or girls.

She has not picked a label, so we are only sharing her own words. On 1 July 2026, Nathalie shared her engagement ring photos on Instagram.

5) Lucy Bronze

Lucy Bronze is an English right back who joined Chelsea from Barcelona in July 2024. In July 2026, she signed a new deal to stay until 2027.

Before that, Bronze played for Everton, Liverpool, and Manchester City from 2014 to 2017, Lyon from 2017 to 2020, Manchester City again from 2020 to 2022, and Barcelona from 2022 to 2024. She also won the Euros, the big European Championship, with England in 2022 and 2025.

Here is the curious part. Lucy has never shared who she dates. Still, fans have talked for years about a possible link with her England teammate Keira Walsh, who plays at Chelsea too. Neither player has ever confirmed or denied a thing.

So, until one of them speaks up, this stays a rumor and nothing more. Keep your eyes open, though, because fans love to guess.

6) Keira Walsh

Keira Walsh is an English midfielder who started at Blackburn Rovers and joined Manchester City in 2014. She stayed there until 2022 and won the WSL with them in 2016. Then she moved to Barcelona from 2022 to January 2025, where she won two Champions League titles.

On January 31, 2025, she signed for Chelsea on a four and a half year deal. She is also a double European champion with England, from 2022 and 2025.

Now for the mystery. Keira has never talked about her love life in public. Fans often point to her close bond with Lucy Bronze, since the two have played side by side for England, Barcelona, and now for Chelsea.

They could simply be great friends, and that is a very real possibility. For now, nothing has been confirmed by either of them, so it stays a rumor.

7) Sjoeke Nüsken

Sjoeke Nüsken is a German midfielder who was born on January 22, 2001. She started at 1. FFC Frankfurt in 2019, a club that was later renamed Eintracht Frankfurt, and she stayed until 2023.

She joined Chelsea on July 1, 2023, and in October 2025 she signed a new contract that keeps her there until 2027. She has also won the WSL with Chelsea in 2023 to 2024 and 2024 to 2025.

Sjoeke also studies civil engineering. As for her love life, we searched widely and found nothing from Sjoeke herself or from any trusted news site.

So if you spot a claim online, treat it with care. Her heart stays a big question mark for now, and we will keep it that way until she decides to share.

8) Sam Kerr

Sam Kerr spent about six and a half years at Chelsea and left in 2026 for Gotham FC, where she plays today. Before London, she played for Western New York Flash in 2013, Sky Blue FC from 2015 to 2017, and Chicago Red Stars from 2018 to 2019.

Funny enough, Gotham is the same club that Sky Blue FC later became. She is one of the most famous lesbian footballers in the world, and her wife is American midfielder Kristie Mewis.

Fans first noticed them together at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, when they hugged after Australia played the USA, and soon they confirmed it on Instagram. They lived in different countries for years, then got engaged on September 1, 2023, and shared the news that November. Their son Jagger was born on May 9, 2025, and the couple married on New Year’s Eve 2025 near Perth.

9) Jess Carter

Jess Carter played for Chelsea from 2018 to 2024 and now plays for Gotham FC. Before Chelsea, she was at Birmingham City from 2013 to 2018. Her fiancée is German goalkeeper Ann Katrin Berger.

Their story started at Birmingham in 2016, where they were flatmates for a while. In 2017, Ann Katrin asked her to dinner, and Jess thought it was just a friendly meal. She has even said she believed she was straight until she fell for her. Jess moved to Chelsea in 2018, and Ann Katrin followed in 2019.

In 2022, they were in different squads for the Euro final at Wembley, Jess with England and Ann Katrin with Germany.

They got engaged in May 2024, and in July Jess left Chelsea to join Ann Katrin at Gotham.

10) Ann Katrin Berger

Ann Katrin Berger was Chelsea’s goalkeeper from 2019 to 2024 and now plays for Gotham FC. She was at Birmingham City from 2016 to 2018 first. She is openly lesbian and has been with Jess Carter since 2017, and Jess followed her to Gotham a few months after she moved in April 2024.

When they got engaged, she posted a photo of Jess’s ring and called her the best trophy she had won so far.

Funny enough, the two share things differently. Jess has said she is more comfortable sharing their relationship in public, while Ann Katrin keeps things more private.

On the pitch, she became a penalty shootout hero for Germany at Euro 2025. That is one more reason she is among the best-loved Chelsea lesbian footballers of recent years.

11) Pernille Harder

Pernille Harder left Chelsea in 2023 and now plays for Bayern Munich. Before Chelsea, she played for Linköping in Sweden until 2016 and for Wolfsburg from 2017 to 2020.

Harder’s fiancée is Magdalena Eriksson, and they have been together since May 2014. They met at Linköping.

In 2019, at the World Cup, a photo of Magdalena in a Sweden shirt kissing Pernille went all over the world, and Pernille woke up with about 3,000 new Instagram followers. She said it helped them see they could be role models.

Also, the two give one percent of their pay to a charity group called Common Goal. After three years at Chelsea, from 2020 to 2023, they left together for Bayern and shared their engagement on July 21, 2024.

12) Magdalena Eriksson

Magdalena Eriksson was at Chelsea from 2017 to 2023 and plays for Bayern Munich now. She started out in Sweden at Linköping. PinkNews, a news site about LGBTQ+ life, calls her openly lesbian, and many fans see her and Pernille as the most famous couple among Chelsea gay female footballers.

She was Chelsea’s captain, played more than 180 games, and won more than 10 trophies. She also has two Olympic silver medals with Sweden.

In May 2023, only days after Chelsea won the FA Cup, she and Pernille said a tearful goodbye to the club. Away from the pitch, she often speaks up for equality for LGBTQ+ people in sport.

13) Ramona Bachmann

Ramona Bachmann played for Chelsea from 2017 to 2020 and now plays for Young Boys in Switzerland, which she joined in 2026. In between, she played for Paris Saint-Germain from 2020 to 2024 and Houston Dash from 2024 to 2025.

Before Chelsea, she played for Umeå in Sweden, Rosengård from 2011 to 2015, and Wolfsburg from 2015 to 2016.

Bachmann came out as a lesbian at the 2015 World Cup. She has said she does not like pretending and wants young people to see that being gay is normal.

While at Chelsea, she dated Swiss forward Alisha Lehmann, who played for West Ham then, from about 2018 to 2021. Later, she met dancer and choreographer Charlotte Baret on Tinder in 2021.

They got engaged on holiday on the Greek island of Lefkada and married in Paris in July 2023. Then they threw a big party with about 100 guests on La Réunion that December.

14) Sophie Ingle

Sophie Ingle had two spells at Chelsea, first from 2012 to 2014 and again from 2018 to 2025, and she now plays for Bristol City. She started at Cardiff City, and in between her Chelsea years she played for Bristol Academy from 2014 to 2015 and Liverpool from 2015 to 2018.

She is a Welsh midfielder who captained Wales for nine years, until April 2024. In 2021, WalesOnline put her on its Pinc List, which names the most influential LGBT+ people in Wales. We could not find her naming a partner, so we will leave that part private.

For Chelsea, she played 214 games, scored 12 goals and won 11 trophies. Her 2020 goal against Arsenal was even nominated for the FIFA Puskas Award, a prize for one of the best goals of the year. She also has an OBE, which is a special honor given by the King for great work.

15) Fran Kirby

Fran Kirby spent nine years at Chelsea, from 2015 to 2024, and now plays for Brighton. Before that, she played for Reading from 2012 to 2015. PinkNews describes her as lesbian, and she was on the DIVA Visible 100 list in 2020. That is a list of well-known LGBTQ+ people.

However, we found no partner named in anything we could trust. Lots of websites guess, but Fran has not confirmed any of it, so we are skipping the guesses.

In June 2025, she told PinkNews that it is fair when players choose to share who they date, but nobody should attack players who choose not to.

At Chelsea, she scored 108 goals in 195 games, won six WSL titles, and then won Euro 2022 with England.

16) Bethany England

Bethany England played for Chelsea from 2016 to 2023 and now plays for Tottenham Hotspur, where she has been captain since September 2023. Before Chelsea, she was at Doncaster Rovers Belles until 2015, and she spent 2017 to 2018 on loan at Liverpool.

Bethany is openly lesbian, and her wife is footballer Stephanie Williams, whom she has been with since September 2018. In January 2023, Beth moved to Tottenham for a British record fee of about 250,000 pounds. A few weeks later, on February 3, she shared their engagement on Instagram. On June 7, 2025, the two got married.

At Chelsea, she scored 74 goals in 163 games. That makes her one of the Chelsea gay female footballers who left a big mark on the club.

17) Guro Reiten

Guro Reiten is a Norwegian winger who joined Chelsea in 2019 and left in March 2026. Before London, Reiten played in Norway for Sunndal, Kattem, Trondheims Ørn and LSK Kvinner.

At Chelsea, she played 207 games, scored 59 goals and won the WSL four years in a row. In March 2026, she moved to Gotham FC, first on loan and then on a deal through 2029.

Her partner is Julie Nilssen. In 2025, the two shared on social media that they were expecting a baby, and Julie was the one carrying the baby. Chelsea’s coach, Sonia Bompastor, told reporters that Guro was in Norway with her partner for the happy news, and Guro took parental leave.

Later in 2025, the family welcomed a baby boy named Felix, and Guro came back to play after her break. Gotham’s club leaders even said she has a family and a young baby, so moving to America was a big step.

Guro scored in the ninth minute of Gotham’s Shield-winning game on November 1, 2026.

18) Maren Mjelde

Maren Mjelde is a Norwegian defender from Bergen who started at Arna-Bjørnar in 2005. After that, she played for Turbine Potsdam in Germany from 2013 to 2014, Kopparbergs/Göteborg in Sweden in 2014, and Avaldsnes in Norway from 2015 to 2016.

Mjelde joined Chelsea in January 2017 and left in June 2024 after seven years. In that time, she won the WSL seven times and captained Norway from 2015 to 2024.

After Chelsea, she went back to Arna-Bjørnar in 2024, spent a few months at Everton in 2025, and then returned to Arna-Bjørnar in August 2025, where she plays today.

Maren has not spoken in public about who she dates. Some gossip websites link her name with other players, but none of them show proof, and she has never confirmed any of it.

So this one stays a rumor, and a very quiet one.

Final Whistle

As you saw, some Chelsea gay female footballers’ stories came with rings, weddings, and even a baby, while others stayed quiet, and a few players chose to share nothing at all. Both ways are fine, because it is up to each person what she shares.

If anything, these Chelsea gay female footballers show that there is no single way to be open about love. The club has had many Chelsea lesbian footballers over the years, and some are still wearing the blue shirt today.

Players change clubs fast, so check the latest news before you quote anything.

We hope you enjoyed getting to know these Chelsea gay female footballers. Did we include someone who shouldn’t be on the list or leave out someone who deserves to be here?
