I’ve got 19 female soccer players that I’m sure they’re all set to light up the pitch and dazzle us with their incredible skills. So, grab your jerseys and prepare to cheer because today, you and I will take a closer look at the top talents in the Women’s Super League.

Sam Kerr
Starting our list of 19 female soccer players to watch out for in the WSL is none other than Sam Kerr. She was born Samantha May Kerr on 10 September 1993 in Australia.
Kerr started playing football in 2008 at age 15, back then playing for Perth Glory FC. Now, Sam Kerr is the number one best female soccer player in the world.

Next on our list of female soccer players to watch out for in the WSL this season is Alessia Russo. She was born Alessia Mia Teresa Russo on 8 February 1999 in Maidstone, England.

Khadija Shaw
She was born Khadija Monifa “Bunny” Shaw on 31 January 1997 in Spanish Town, Jamaica. She started training to play as young as 10, and at 13, Bunny was called up for the Jamaica U15s team for the first time.
Currently, Khadija is signed with Manchester City Women since 2021. She’s a forward wearing jersey number 21.

Geyse Ferreira
Geyse da Silva Ferreira is a Brazilian speedster you don’t want to miss to watch. She was born on 27 March 1998 in Maragogi, Alagoas, Brazil.
Ferreira was previously playing for the Liga F side Barcelona FC Women before joining Manchester United Women. She is another signee that we anticipate to see in action. She is a forward and will be wearing Jersey number 23.

Hinata Miyazawa
This name took the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup by storm. She was sensational to watch, coming out as the tournament’s top scorer with a total of five goals. Winning herself the Golden Boot of the tournament.
Miyazawa was born on November 28, 1999, in Minamiashigara, Kanagawa, Japan. She started her soccer career in high school back in 2015. She was lucky to be named among Japan’s 23 players squad to represent her nation in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Here is where Marc Skinner, Manchester United Women’s coach, spotted this Japanese maestro. Marc ensured she had signed her. Hinata can play both as a midfielder and in the forward position. She’ll be wearing jersey number 20.
Hinata Miyazawa is a midfield magician. Her precise passes and vision on the field are unmatched. She’s one of the female soccer players in the WSL you want to watch.
Zecira Musovic
Zecira was the talk of the town after denying every United States shot that came her way, making sure the USA exited the tournament in the early stages, which was the first time in their history. She was a wall in the goal and undoubtedly one of the soccer players you must watch out for in the WSL.
Zecira was born on 26 May 1996 in Falun, Sweden. She started playing football at the age of 9 back then, playing football for Stattena IF. Currently, Musovic is playing for WSL side Chelsea Women FC, wearing Jersey number 1.
She is one solid goalkeeper who fits the bill perfectly. She’s a shot-stopping sensation, and any chance she gets minutes to play, she will surely be pivotal in her team’s defense.
Jill Roord
She was born Jill Jamie Roord on 22 April 1997 in Oldenzaal, Netherlands. She started her career in 2008 at the under-13 team of FC Twente. She has had quite a career playing for teams including Bayern Munich, Arsenal, and VFL Wolfsburg. She signed with Manchester City, playing as a midfielder wearing jersey number 20.
Jill Roord is a midfield maestro and a true playmaker. If you get to watch her, you’ll notice her ability to control the game and create scoring opportunities for her teammates. She’ll be sensational and, indeed, one of the Women’s Soccer League’s best players to watch this new season.
Amanda Ilestedt
Amanda was born on 17 January 1993 in Sölvesborg, Sweden. Ilestedt was one of the players in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Golden Boot race. Unfortunately, she didn’t win it, but she made a history of being one of the defenders with the most goals in the tournament, with four total goals.
She is signed with Arsenal Women as a center-back, wearing jersey number 28. Ilestedt showcases her defensive prowess and ability to read the game in the heart of the defense. These and other skills make her one of the Best WSL soccer players. She’s a defender to watch, especially when it comes to keeping the opposition at bay.
Katie McCabe
She was born Katie Alison McCabe on 21 September 1995 in Kilnamanagh, Dublin, Ireland. This Irish gem made her start playing football before she was 10. At 10, Alison joined her first girls’ team in Templeogue. McCabe played for girls’ and boys’ teams until she turned 13.
You’ll know Katie for her incredible crossing and set-piece deliveries. She’s a versatile player who has made an impact on the Arsenal Women’s team. She wears jersey number 11 and can play as a Winger, forward, full-back, or wing-back.

Lauren James
Here comes another rising star from England. She’s among the few players who scored braces in the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023. She was born Lauren Elizabeth James on 29 September 2001 in London, England.
James made her career debut in 2010, playing for the Chelsea Youth team back then. She has played for other teams, including Arsenal and Manchester United. She’s signed under Chelsea Women’s FC and plays as a forward wearing jersey number 10.
Laurens has all the attributes to become one of the top Female soccer players in WSL. Keep an eye on her as she continues to shine. She possesses impressive dribbling skills, and her flair will make you buzz with excitement.
Rachel Daly
She was born Rachel Ann Daly on 6 December 1991 in Harrogate, England. Rachel says she started playing football between the ages of eight and nine. She has played for teams including Leeds, Los Angeles Strikers, LA Blues, Houston Dash, and West Ham United. Daly plays for Astovilla women as a striker and left wing-back wearing jersey number 9.
Rachel is an aerial threat up top, a ruthless finisher, and a committed defender. Anytime she pays, you’ll be amazed by her work rate and ability to contribute defensively and offensively. She’s undoubtedly one of the most exciting WSL soccer players to watch this season.
Vivianne Miedema
All the way from the Netherlands, we have a clinical finisher who can turn any game on its head. She was born Anna Margaretha Marina Astrid Miedema15 July 1996 in Hoogeveen. She started playing football as young as 5, playing for HZVV in her hometown.
She has played for SC Heerenveen and Bayern Munich. Now, she signed with the Arsenal Women’s team, playing as a forward in jersey number 11. You cannot miss to watch this Dutch maestro. She will amaze you with her finishing, link-up play, and football brain, which are world-class.
Riko Ueki
Ueki is another rising football star all the way from Japan, and we’re lucky to have her in one of the greatest women’s leagues in the world. She was born on 30 July 1999 in Kawasaki, Kanagawa.
Riko started her professional football career in 2011. She is among the signees that joined the WSL for the 2023/24 season signing with West Ham United. She’ll be playing as a forward wearing jersey number 9.
Rehanne Skinner probably saw Ueki’s blistering pace and creativity in the attack during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Anytime she was brought into the game, she changed the game with a moment of brilliance. Will we see that, or is WSL too big for her yet?
Millie Bright
Millie Bright is a defensive rock who can easily thwart the opposition’s attacks. Her commanding presence in defense makes her one of the Best WSL soccer players in her position.
Millie was born on 21 August 1993 in Chesterfield, England. She started playing football at the age of 9. Bright signed with Chelsea Women FC in 2014, playing as a defender wearing jersey number 4.
Bright is a defender who’s dominant in the air while also comfortable carrying the ball forward. She is Chelsea’s captain who will also be leading the team’s backline with strength and confidence.
Guro Reiten
From Norway, we have Guro Reiten. Guro was born on 26 July 1994 in Sunndalsøra. She made her professional debut at 16, joining Toppserien side Kattem. She played in Swedish leagues before joining WSL side Chelsea Women FC in 2019.
Reiten plays as a winger wearing jersey number 11. This season, we’ll surely see Guro’s skills that are a sight to hold. She has the ability to drive the play forward and create goal-scoring opportunities, and I’m sure she is into showing much of that.
Mary Earps
We should have started with this one, but the list follows no order, so let’s continue.
Mary Earps is another goalkeeper to watch out for. But first, where was she born? Mary was born Mary Alexandra Earps on 7 March 1993 in Nottingham, England. She started playing football at the age of 8.
She has played for different teams, including Leicester City, Birmingham City, Reading, and VfL Wolfsburg. She is currently signed with Manchester United Women since 2019. She wears jersey number 27.
Earps got safe hands, and we can all agree to that. She managed to win the Golden Glove Award at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Tournament. You’ll know her for her incredible shot-stopping ability. I’m sure this season, she’ll be crucial for her team’s success. Though rumors have it, she might be leaving the club in the mid-season.
Yui Hasegawa
Hasegawa was born on 29 January 1997 in Sendai, Miyagi, Japan. She started playing football in kindergarten at the age of six. She has played for teams including Tokyo Verdy Veleza, Milan, and West Ham United. Currently, Yui is signed with Manchester City, playing as a midfielder wearing jersey number 25.
During this WSL 2023/24 season, we’ll see one of the best creative forces in midfield. Hasegawa’s dribbling skills and ability to unlock defenses with killer passes make her one of the top Female soccer players in WSL to watch. You don’t want to miss watching such skills.
Daphne van Domselaar
Last but not least, Daphne van Domselaar is one of the female soccer players to watch out in the WSL. She wraps up our list of 19 female soccer players to watch in the WSL. Daphne was born on 6 March 2000 in Beverwijk, Netherlands. She started playing football at 11, playing at LSVV in Zuid-Scharwoude.
