Emma Hayes, the mastermind behind Chelsea’s dominance, has left to coach the U.S. Women’s National Team. You might call this bad news, but I don’t. You don’t have to worry, Chelsea fans—they’ve brought in Sonia Bompastor, one of the best female coaches in the game.
Talk about a power move.
And if that wasn’t enough to get your heart racing, wait till you hear about their new signings. Lucy Bronze, arguably the best female soccer defender, has joined the Blues. Can you imagine the havoc she’ll wreak on opposing teams? I’m getting goosebumps just thinking about it!
They’ve also snagged Sandy Baltimore, a speedy French forward who’s sure to light up the pitch. And let’s not forget Sam Kerr, one of the most popular players in women’s soccer, who’s sticking around until 2027. With a lineup like this, Chelsea’s looking scarier than ever!

Just a stone’s throw from Chelsea, we’ve got Arsenal Women. These North London ladies finished third last season, but don’t count them out – they’re hungry for that top spot.
Now, I’ve got to be honest with you. Arsenal letting go of Vivianne Miedema, their world-class striker, had me scratching my head. Will they regret it? Only time will tell.
But it’s not all doom and gloom for the Gunners. They’ve signed Mariona Caldentey, a Spanish forward fresh off a World Cup win. Talk about bringing in a champion.

Let’s head north to Manchester, where the City Women are plotting their path to glory. These ladies have been knocking on the door of success for a while now, and this could be their year to break it down. What do you think?
City made some smart moves in the transfer market. They’ve snagged Vivianne Miedema (yes, the one Arsenal let go) as a free agent. I think she’ll be a game-changer.
They’ve also brought in Risa Shimizu, adding some Japanese flair to their lineup.
But it’s not all good news. They’ve lost Ellie Roebuck to Barcelona and Esme Morgan to Washington Spirit. And get this – Steph Houghton, their long-time captain, has hung up her boots. Big shoes to fill, right?

4. Manchester United Women
The literal meaning of red devils rising.
Across town, Manchester United Women are gearing up for what could be their breakthrough season. These Red Devils have been steadily climbing the ranks, and after finishing fifth last season WSL 2023/24, they’re hungry for more.
United had a bit of a shake-up in the off-season. They’ve lost their world-class goalkeeper Mary Earps to Paris Saint-Germain (ouch!), striker Lucia Garcia to Rayadas, and captain Katie Zelem.
I know, I know, it sounds rough. But don’t write them off just yet!
They’ve made some exciting signings too. Dominique Janssen from VfL Wolfsburg brings experience to the backline, and they’ve made Melvine Malard’s loan from Lyon permanent. Plus, they’ve snagged Elisabeth Terland as a free agent. Not too shabby.

5. Aston Villa Women
Up up, Villa!
Let’s take a trip to Birmingham, where Aston Villa Women are cooking up something special. These Villans have been making waves in the WSL, and they’re not about to stop now.
Villa’s got a new coach at the helm – Robert de Pauw. He’s taking over from Carla Ward, who did a fantastic job getting Villa to seventh place last season. It’ll be interesting to see what new tricks de Pauw has up his sleeve.
Now, I’ve got to warn you, Villa fans – you might want to sit down for this. Alisha Lehmann, everyone’s favorite striker (and, let’s be honest, one of the most beautiful female footballers), has left for Juventus. I know it’s a tough pill to swallow.
But it’s not all bad news! They’ve signed Katie Robinson, a young talent who’s sure to get the Villa faithful on their feet. And let’s not forget the stars they’ve still got:

6. Tottenham Hotspur Women
Is it Spurs’ time to shine?
Back in London, Tottenham Hotspur Women are gearing up for what they hope will be their best season yet. These North London ladies have been steadily improving, and they’re ready to ruffle some feathers.
Spurs have a new coach too – Robert Vilahamn. He’s signed on for two years, and he’s got some serious talent to work with. They’ve brought in Amanda Nildén from Juventus and Ella Morris from Southampton. Not bad, eh?
But here’s the kicker – they’ve let Ria Percival go. She’s now on loan at Crystal Palace. It’s a head-scratcher, for sure, but maybe Vilahamn’s got a master plan we don’t know about yet.

7. West Ham United Women
The Hammers will be hammering out a new path in the WSL 2024/25 season.
Let’s hop on the tube and head to East London, where West Ham United Women are busy preparing for the new season WSL 2024/25. These Hammers have been making steady progress, and they’re not about to stop now.
West Ham has its first-ever female manager, Rehanne Skinner. She joined in July 2023, and I’m excited to see what she can do with this team.
Now, I’ve got to be straight with you – they’ve lost some key players. Mackenzie Arnold, their star goalkeeper, has left for Portland Thorns in the NWSL. They’ve also said goodbye to Hawa Cissoko, Honoka Hayashi, and Risa Shimizu. It’s a bit of a shake-up, for sure.
But don’t count the Hammers out! They’ve still got some serious talent

8. Liverpool Women
Other Reds are ready for action.
It’s time to head north to Liverpool, where the Reds are gearing up for another exciting WSL 2024/25 season. Liverpool Women have had their ups and downs, but they’re always a force to be reckoned with.
Coach Matt Beard is still at the helm, and he’s got a talented squad to work with. They’ve had to say goodbye to Shanice van de Sanden, which is a bit of a blow. But hey, every cloud has a silver lining, right?

Still in Liverpool, but on the blue side of the City, we’ve got Everton Women. These Toffees have been steadily climbing the table, and they’re hungry for more.
Brian Sorensen is still in charge and has a nice blend of experience and youth to work with. The Dutch international Katja Snoeijs is still leading the line, and she has some great support.

10. Leicester City Women
Let’s call the Foxes on the hunt.
Let’s head to the East Midlands, where Leicester City Women are preparing for another WSL 2024/25 campaign. The Foxes have had a tough time since joining the top flight, but they’re not giving up without a fight.
Here’s some exciting news – they’ve got a new coach. Amandine Miquel has joined on a three-year contract. She’s coming in from French side Stade de Reims, and I’m pumped to see what fresh ideas she brings to the team.
Leicester City women players to keep an eye out for.

11. Brighton & Hove Albion Women
Seagulls Soaring? We will find out.
It’s time to head back down south to the coast, where Brighton & Hove Albion Women are gearing up for another WSL 2024/25 season. The Seagulls have had their fair share of drama, but they’re looking to put that behind them.
Brighton has a new coach, too—Dario Vidosic. He’s an ex-Australia international who has signed on for three years. That’s what I call commitment.
Now, here’s some news that’ll make you sit up and take notice – they’ve signed Fran Kirby from Chelsea! Talk about a statement signing!

12. Crystal Palace Women
Here comes the new kids on the block.
Last but definitely not least, we’ve got the new additions to the WSL 2024/25- Crystal Palace Women/ These Eagles have flown up from the Championship, taking Bristol City’s place.
Now, I know what you’re thinking – “Can they hack it in the big leagues?” Well, let me tell you, these ladies aren’t here just to make up the numbers. They’ve got some serious talent and a point to prove.
Their home ground is the VBS Community Stadium in Sutton, but keep an eye out – they might play some matches at Selhurst Park, too. How cool is that?
Laura Kaminski is the woman in charge, and she’s got a tough job ahead of her. But if anyone can keep the Eagles flying high, it’s her.
Players to watch out for? Well, that’s the exciting part – we’ll all be discovering Palace’s stars together this WSL 2024/25 season.
